City's players looked weary on Saturday as struggling Peterborough staged a rousing second- half comeback to win 2-1.
But boss Mackay says striker Bellamy, 33, will be fit for the Championship leaders this afternoon at home to Blackburn.
The City boss said: "It was a rest for Craig at Peterborough, not an injury. He played two really tough games for Wales and both his hamstrings were screaming.
