Cristiano Ronaldo stayed true to form in front of goal against Galatasary in the first leg of the quarter-final of the Champions League by scoring the first goal of the game. It was his ninth in nine matches, making him the top goal-scorer of this year's tournament ahead of Yilmaz (Galatasaray) and Messi (Barcelona), both on eight. The Portuguese striker's effectiveness in front of goal also makes him the fourth highest-scoring striker in the history of Real Madrid in this competition with 32 goals, overtaking Gento and just three behind Puskas.
Cristiano Ronaldo leads the table of aces in the Champions League 2012/13. The Madrid player has hit the back of the net in each of his last four matches and is one goal ahead of Yilmazy (Galatasaray), who thanks to Ramos and Varane did not get a single scoring opportunity in the first leg of the quarter-final, and Messi (Barcelona). Behind them is a group of players all on five goals: Óscar (Chelsea), Jonas (Valencia), Lewandowski (Borussia Dortmund), Alan (Sporting Braga), Müller (Bayern) and Lavezzi (PSG). What's more, the Real Madrid striker is also the top goal-scorer in away matches with five goals, one more than Yilmaz, Alan and William.
