Arsenal Target Asmir Begovic Has No Plans To Leave Stoke City - caughtoffside

Arsenal target Asmir Begovic believes he will still be at Stoke City next season, and has no desire to leave the club, according to This Is Staffordshire.

The Bosnian shot stopper has been in fine form for the Potters this season, despite their fight with relegation, and has attracted interest from a number of top clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Stoke seem to be preparing for his departure, with manager Tony Pulis securing the signing of young Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland in January, as he expects a flurry of bids for one of his star players.

The former Portsmouth man would be a particularly useful signing for Arsenal, who are unhappy with their current 'keeper Wojciech Szczesny, after a poor run of form this season. Lukasz Fabianski has deputised for his fellow Pole, but has not convinced Arsene Wenger as a long-term solution in goal.

The likes of Simon Mignolet and Michel Vorm have also been linked with Arsenal, and they may still look elsewhere as Begovic insists he is committed to Stoke.

"I am happy here and I am desperate to help the club push forward. We all want to win trophies and be as successful as we can, that is the main aim."

The former Portsmouth man could cost around £15million, and the club may decide to cash in on him with the arrival of Butland next season.
