Possibly greater than any other player to the Red Sox roster, pitcher John Lackey offers the most to prove inside 2013. One year removed from Tommy John surgery, Lackey ought to show Boston that he's not really a total dud.
Lackey published a 4. 40 ERA really, his debut season while using the Sox, and followed it up which includes a 6. 41 ERA inside 2011 before surgery.
The 34-year-old came along to spring training looking like he was at better shape than ever and seemed ready to get back on road. But it hasn't already been easy.
Lackey is currently 1-4 by having a 4. 05 ERA and allows allowed 31 hits along with 12 earned runs in 26 innings. He also had any small setback in April as soon as he injured his bicep and was placed on the 15-day DL.
In his most recent start on Tuesday night about the Rays, Lackey blew a good 3-0 Red Sox point and allowed five functions in four innings, the sole five runs Tampa obtained.
He's not the worst starter in the red Sox rotation, but Lackey definitely hoped into the future out stronger than the following. Red Sox Nation has yet being convinced of his price.
